Teens Top Tenn Announced!

The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA) has announced the official 2013 Teens’ Top Ten titles. Voting for the 2013 Teens’ Top Ten took place from Aug. 15 through Teen Read Week, Oct. 13- 19, with more than 32,000 votes cast. This year, there were 28 nominees that competed for the “top ten” list. The official 2013 Teens’ Top Ten titles are as follows: "Code Name Verity" by Elizabeth Wein "The False Prince" by Jennifer A. Nielsen "Insurgent" by Veronica Roth "Pushing the Limits" by Katie McGarry "Poison Princess" by Kresley Cole "The Raven Boys" by Maggie Stiefvater "Crewel" by Gennifer Albin "Every Day" by David Levithan "Kill Me Softly" by Sarah Cross "Butter" by Erin Jade Lange

Ask Divergent Author Veronica Roth Your Questions

Calling all factions! Veronica Roth, author of the Divergent trilogy and mini-marshmallow enthusiast, will be doing  a Google+ Hangout on Monday, October 28, at 5 p.m. ET. Up for discussion: Allegiant (proper warning: Spoilers will abound, so steer clear if you haven’t yet read the book), the forthcoming Divergent movie, and, of course, your own burning questions.

Zombie Survival Kit (Teen Read Week)

This week is Teen Read Week. The them for this year is "Seek the Unknown." Last night, a group of teens and I met up to read Zombie Haiku, make zombie felties, and create a list of items we think one would need in case of the Zombie Apocalypse. October is National Bullying Prevention Month

October is National Bullying Prevention Month Monday, October 7 is World Day of Bullying Prevention.  Wear a blue shirt in solidarity to stop bullying and cyberbullying.
